Annapurna Base Camp Trekking: 12 Days

Annapurna Base Camp Trek is one of the trekking destinations which combines so many different landscapes and also brings you to the foot of 7,000m and 8,000m peaks in such a short trek. It is one of the most popular treks in the Annapurna Region. The trekking trail goes alongside the beautiful terraced paddy fields, lush green rhododendron forests, the high altitude landscapes and the view of the mountains of the Annapurna range frequently.

As the name suggests, the centre piece of this place is the range of mountains that includes Annapurna I, the first of the 8000m peaks to be climbed. In this region lies another 8000m giant, Dhaulagiri, which is located west of Annapurna I. Between these two mountains lies the valley of the Kali-Gandaki River, the deepest gorge in the world.

The Annapurna trekking will take you through various Hindu and Buddhist villages where the welcome is assured. The trek through the oak and rhododendron forest where the sound of birds the birds calls fill the air. Annapurna conservation area is the first and largest conservation in Nepal habitant of Musk dear, blood pheasant, multi-colored lmpeyan and kokla. The upper sub-alpine stepped environment is the residence of some of the rare snow leopards and blue sheep. The another fact of this region is Annapurna chain of mountains lies inland which causes a large chunk of land to fall in the rain shadow area.

The best time for this trekking is during spring and autumn. It is more likely to start the trekking via Pokhara. Pokhara is one of the valleys of Nepal with lots of lakes and offers a wide range of sceneries all around to attract a lot of tourists. It is at a mere distance of 200 kms from Kathmandu or even a 25 minutes flight can be taken from the capital of Nepal to reach there.

Day 01:  Arrival and Transfer to the Hotel- Stay overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 02: Transfer to the Domestic Airport to catch the flight to Pokhara. Stay overnight in Pokhara.

Day 03: Drive to Nayapul (1050 m/ 1 & ½ hr) & Trek to Jhinu (1700 m/ 6 hrs ).

Day 04: Trek from Jhinu to Bamboo (2200 m/ 6 hrs ).

Day 05: Trek from Bamboo -Deurali (3200 m / 6 hrs)

Day 06: Deurali to Machapuchre Base camp (3720 m / 4 hrs)

Day 07: Machapuchre Base Camp to Annapurna Base Camp (4,130 m), back to MBC (5 hrs)

Day 08: MBC to Doban (2400 m/ 5 hrs)

Day 09: Doban to Ghandrungkot (1900m/ 5 hrs)

Day 10: Ghandrungkot to Nayapool (1050 m/ 4 hrs )and Drive back to Pokhara. Stay overnight in Pokhara.

Day 11: Morning Flight back to Kathmandu and free afternoon for Shopping and stay overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 12: Departure Transfer to the Airport for onward Journey.
